The ST12MHDLAN HDMI Over IP Extender kit includes both the transmitter and receiver and lets you extend an HDMI audio and video signal long range over a Gigabit LAN Network, or shorter distances using a direct CAT5e/CAT6 cable connection. When connected through a Gigabit LAN Network, the same HDMI signal can also be extended to additional displays using ST12MHDLANRX receiver units (sold separately), for a point-to-multi point installation. This versatile HDMI extender offers multiple configuration options. As a point-to-point video extender, you can connect the transmitter and receiver units directly over Cat5/Cat6 cabling for a small scale one-to-one extension of up to 330 feet (100 meters). A point-to-point setup can also be achieved when connecting through a Gigabit Ethernet network. In a point-to-multipoint configuration the ST12MHDLAN and ST12MHDLANRX (sold separately) can be connected through an unmanaged or managed Gigabit LAN portal to span the entire distance of your network, allowing you to connect one source (transmitter) to multiple displays (receivers) over IP. When used with a managed Gigabit Ethernet switch (with IGMP) you can connect up to 100 displays on a local area network. For added scalability, up to 16 different ST12MHDLAN Transmitter units can be added to a single network (IGMP / Managed Network Switch required) with up to 100 displays in total. The HDMI over IP Extender kit includes optional mounting hardware for a professional and tidy installation. Plus, because the extender uses standard non-proprietary Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet cable with RJ45 connectors, it eliminates both the expense and hassle of running specialized cables.
